Recently, Dr. Tadros earned accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Association, making her the first board certified cosmetic dentist in the Fort Lauderdale area to do so. This advanced training and accreditation demonstrates Dr. Tadros’ ability to provide the highest possible quality care in cosmetic dentistry services such as veneers, Invisalign, or teeth whitening services in addition to restorative or preventative dental care.
Dr. Tadros Earns American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Accreditation
Dr. Tadros recently earned accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). This signifies that she has completed advanced training and holds advanced knowledge of cosmetic dentistry above that of the average dentist. As of 2021, Dr. Tadros is the only dentist in Fort Lauderdale to hold board certification and AACD Accreditation.
The AACD Accreditation Process
The AACD accreditation process is completed in three parts: written examination, submission of clinical cases, and an oral examination.
First, dentists must complete a written exam at an AACD Scientific Session. At the Scientific Session, or online as necessary, they must also attend two required workshops. Following the written exams and workshops, dentists must then complete and submit clinical cases. These clinical cases are then reviewed by the examiners. After reviewing and accepting clinical cases, the dentist will then be invited to their oral examination. There, they are asked questions about their case, diagnosis and treatment planning for cosmetic dentistry, and more. Through this oral examination, a dentist must prove their understanding and knowledge of cosmetic dentistry.
After passing all three requirements, dentists are then granted accreditation. Many dentists, including Dr. Tadros, find that this process allows them to grow in their knowledge and expertise of cosmetic dentistry as they continue through their careers. The accreditation process can take several years to complete.
