In the past, patients had to simply trust their dentists or imagine what their results would look like before undergoing cosmetic procedures. Today, digital smile design processes allow you to get a preview of your results and work with Dr. Tadros to truly customize your smile. Digital smile design uses a combination of 3D intraoral scans, photos, and 3D printing to show results of treatments like veneers, Invisalign, and more.

What is Digital Smile Design?

Prior to the procedure that interests you, Dr. Tadros will take 3D scans of your mouth, known as an intraoral 3D scan, as well as digital photographs of your smile. Using these images, she can then create a three-dimensional model with different options for your results. For example, she may create models with different types of veneers so you can truly see the difference and make an informed decision. In many cases, this can be completed chairside, meaning that you can see the whole process in action. Other patients may have to wait slightly longer while their digital designs are being finished.

Reviews

Once you have reviewed these digital images, Dr. Tadros will use one of our three 3D printers to create models within about 30 minutes. This workflow allows you to view trials of a new smile prior to getting started on treatment as well as show predictable simulations of straightening teeth or going through aligner therapy like Invisalign
